3, 2, 1 – Launch!

It took a few years, but perseverance pays off, as Nicki Greenberg lets loose her Great Gatsby adaptation on an unsuspecting world. (Good lord! Is it actually possible to make money from comics? Yes, if you keep your nib and brush working for six years straight.)

Nicki is now making the rounds with book signings, and talks at high schools, colleges and the Brisbane Writers’ Festival.

Hitting the stores early this month, the press is a-twitter here and here.

The graphic novel features some rather unique interpretations of the characters (above), but no one seems to be complaining. First printed by Allen & Unwin in Australia, it will be published in Canada in 2008. The States will have to wait a few more years due to legal wrangling. Their loss.
