Comics To Animation: screening + forum, Cinema Nova Jul 13

As a tie-in to the release of the movie ‘Sin City’ in July, Cinema Nova in Lygon St, Melbourne are having some comics people come down, show their animated work and then talk a bit about it. It’s basically a repeat of a thing we did at the National Young Writers Festival last year but with more animation, more animators and it’s in a damn theatre, for god’s sake.

Date/time: Wed July 13. Screening starts 6:45pm (approx 75 mins), forum to follow
Location: Cinema Nova, 380 Lygon St, Carlton
Cost: It’s free.

Screening will feature the genius animation of: Adam Ford, Ben Hutchings, Clint Curé, David Blumenstein, Dean Rankine, Dillon Naylor, Glenn Smith, Maik Hempel, Kirrily Schell, Ross Tesoriero and Ross Williams.

Anyone interested in animated depictions of historic suburban battles, successful barbarians, train surfing, lawyer dogs, hand-washing, vampire girls, death metal, superheroes ordering take-out, pointy boobs, burning cats or reality TV should find something to love. Flyer with program attached.
